Debian: 12 years old
Happy Birthday, Debian project!
Did you know the day Debian project was born, Madonna was also born?
And did you know the day the Debian project was born, Elvis Presley
died? Find more important dates!
Thanks to abrotman who noticed it
And well, I have to blog it,
man… Once upon a time, in #debian-offtopic, I was chatting with my
great native English speaker friend:
* damog has learnt the Debian's burocracia (I don't know how to spell it in English). abrotman: wow .. neither do i * abrotman goes to the dictionary abrotman: bureaucracy abrotman: i feel so bad damog: heh abrotman: you know .. like bureau .. abrotman: how fucking sad
This made me laugh a lot

DD
After a long NM process, I've became DD today.
I have to thank people involved directly on my process: Gunnar Wolf for
being my advocate, and actually, he was the one who gave me a Debian CD
to try it for the first time in my life several years ago; Craig Small,
my AM; Anibal Monsalve, who always were there supporting me; Joerg
Jaspert, for whom I deliver desserts everyday at #debian-newmaint
;
and all the people working on the NM desk.
Thanks.
Twenty-one
A day like today, but 21 years ago, I was born. Random thoughts:
- I hosted a birthday party last friday. All my dearest friends were there.
- I'm now able to drink with abrotman in Philadelphia!
- It sucks that my back-to-school day is my birthday.
- Tato, one of my high school homies, will also be 21 on the 11st.
- I felt asleep on my own party last friday because I was too drunk
(at 1:30 am). My guests left around 4 or 5. That happens when you are
still 20
- I watched a The Simpsons episode today where Bart is feeling he is not a kid anymore.
- This is actually the beginning of my third decade of life. And saying that sounds like 30s.
- I'm getting old very quickly.

Naco? Naqusimo!
Last Sunday, I went out with my parents, sis and some uncles and aunts
to have breakfast at a carnitas place. It was pretty cool. After the
food, we went to the ice cream store. In our way back, I found
something that couldn't find a better word for than "naquísimo":
Can you believe this? This is one of those Volkswagen Sedan, which are
incredible popular in Mexico, commonly named "vocho" (called "fusca" in
Brazil, thanks kov
. I remember Mako,
when he was here last December, thinking on carrying some of those to
NYC and sell them, since apparently they are very expensive there, heh.
Kov also noticed the large amount of those old beetles. Fusca!
The thing is that the exhaust pipe's (thanks to Phated, who told me the
name in English 'cause I didn't know it) length was like 30 cms.
Actually, while taking the pic (not high quality since I took it with
my phone), a person walking tried to pass between the two vehicles by
jumping (and almost falling down) that "naquísima" thing.
And well, the car is not even like pimped. The car was almost a piece
of trash, it is not nice, come on. I think a "naco" in a case like this
is called "guarro" in Spain.
